Ed Was Here
The tv was sitting far out, 100 yards or more, from an abandoned double-wide “homestead” we visited regularly on the valley tours and had become known as The Palm Tree House . It had been shot where it sat, perhaps from the house which would have been an admirable feat if you’re into that sort of thing. Abbey may have appreciated the effort.

Slate Range Fat Ride Shakedown
Test ride on the new frame. 9 ZERO 7 135 slider they call it. Pugsley stuff swapped over. 1×10 drive. BB7’s are now replaced with hydraulics. Had a Husker Du on the front but it did not hold up in the rocks. Sidewall succumbed to the Mojave. Switched back to the perhaps slightly more robust and heavier 27 tpi Larry’s. Scale reads between 30 and 32 pounds.
Tanks for the help
Dad came up for a couple days. Survived the “guest house”. Helped plumb in Phase One of the water fiasco, er, project. Progress was made despite our best efforts.
